It looks like Angelina Jolie's latest artistic endeavor
may have landed her on the hot seat to play Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley in Bride
of Frankenstein, one of the pieces in Universal Pictures' Classic Movie Monsters
shared universe that Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan are helping build.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, by supporting
Jolie's passion project, By the Sea, which she wrote, directed and starred in with
husband, Brad Pitt, Universal has greased the wheels so to speak for the
actress to star in Bride of Frankenstein or in the long rumored Wanted sequel.
Apparently, either of these movies will gain whatever
the investment Universal made on By the Sea, which failed to rally an audience,
and gain critic support.
By the Sea was released in 126 theaters at its widest,
making less than a $1 million after just two weeks.
