After The Flash, it sounds like yet another character that
is currently on TV will be reincarnated on the big screen, separating even
further the DC
Cinematic Universe from the current line of TV superheroes.
According to the Latino
Review Abbey Lee (Mad Max:
Fury Road) and Alona Tal (Supernatural, Burn Notice) have become the
frontrunners to play Black Canary, who according to them will make her debut in
either Justice League Part 1 or Justice League Part 2, both to be directed by
Zack Snyder, and set to be released in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Black Canary is currently part of the roster of characters
fans can see on The CW's superhero action drama Arrow. Caity Lotz played the character originally,
and after her character's death, Katie Cassidy took over as the superhero.
But that's not all. It
seems that introducing Black Canary in the DCCU will be the first step in
establishing yet another property, Birds of Prey.
Birds of Prey is an
all-female superhero group that Black Canary and Barbara Gordon created. Jena
Malone is rumored to be playing Barbara on Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of
Justice.
