Illumination
has released the first trailer for the next installment in the Despicable Me
franchise, which sees Steve Carell not only reprising his role as Gru, but also
his long-lost twin brother Dru, "who is exactly like Gru except with
hair, and also different in every way."
Directed
by Pierre Coffin ("Minions") and Kyle Balda ("Lorax"),
Despicable Me 3 sees Gru (Carell), Lucy (Kristen Wiig), and their adorable
daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes, coming together to face Balthazar Bratt (Trey
Parker), a former child star who has grown up to become obsessed with the
character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis
to date.
Opening
in theaters on June 30, 2017, Despicable Me 3 also stars Miranda Cosgrove,
Russell Brand, Dana Gaier, and Nev Scharrel.
