With fans eagerly awaiting for
the premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which is currently shooting the pilot
in Vancouver, The CW decided to tease them by releasing the first official
promotional picture of both Hawkgirl and Hawkman in costume.
Ciara Renée plays Kendra
Saunders, aka Hawkgirl, "a
young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly
reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona
manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the
moniker Hawkgirl."
Falk Hentschel on the other
hand plays Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, a "charismatic and wise beyond his years," which makes him a "natural-born leader with an abundance of charm and
confidence."
The costumes look great and we can see that at least one of them is
holding the iconic mace. As for the wings, I'm interested in seeing how showrunner
Phil Klemmer will handle them. We can guess they will be CGI when in use and
perhaps practical when the action slows down and the characters are talking,
but how about when Hawkgirl and Hawkman are in their everyday lives, at their
jobs, and with their non-superhero friends? Will they fold on to themselves, or
be tucked away?
DC's Legends of Tomorrow is expected to debut in early 2016.
