Yesterday at the
press conference for the upcoming disaster film, San Andreas, Dwayne Johnson
confirmed that he will return as Luke Hobbs in the already announced Furious 8.
"Of course,"
Johnson replied when asked if he would return. "It can’t go on without
Hobbs."
Good new then!
However, Johnson also addressed the reported Hobbs spinoff, which was rumored
to take place, and be released between the sixth and seventh installment of the
high-octane franchise.
"We all are
interested in it," said the actor. "I just had a big
conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me
personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge
is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you
know, but a lot of other people have to have input."
Do you want to see a Hobbs spinoff?
Furious 8 is set to
be released on April 14, 2017
