Though he doesn't
need performance capture gear to deliver a good performance, Andy Serkis has
become synonymous with the technique, so when he was announced has part of the
cast for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, everyone assumed that he
would once again "put on the ping pong balls".
Well, everyone
assumed right and today Vanity Fair revealed that the actor will be playing a
character named Supreme Leader Snoke in the highly anticipated Star Wars
sequel.
Other than the name
the magazine doesn't offer any other details about the character but with
Supreme Leader for a title, it's difficult to imagine Serkis not playing
someone high up in the ranks of the evil First Order.
As far as we know the
actor isn't the only one going through the performance capture process. Oscar
winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is also doing it for the pirate Maz Kanata.
