In true comic book fashion,
Superman did not perish at the hands of the monstrosity known Doomsday in Batman
v Superman: Dawn of Justice, quite the contrary, he survived his deadly
encounter and is currently working on making his comeback, but with an add-on, a
new costume.
Henry Cavill, who has
been sharing images of his workout routine to get back in Superman shape for Justice League, has
posted a new photo on Instagram teasing a major costume change for when he rises
from the grave in Zack Snyder's follow-up to Batman v Superman.
The first use of the
iconic black costume was in the 1992 The Death of Superman. In the comic arc,
after being killed by Doomsday, the Man of Steel rose once more and wore the
costume.
Opening in theaters
on November 17, 2017, Justice League also stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray
Fisher, Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Ezra Miller, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy
Irons, Kiersey Clemons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, and Jesse Eisenberg.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s
selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince,
to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly
to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.
But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder
Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the
planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
