Sadly NBC’s brilliant and outstanding character driven
police thriller True Detective came to an end last night, closing the Matthew
McConaughey’s Rust Cole and Woody Harrelson’s Marty Hart chapter. But do not
despair, since a new season is already on the horizon and it will be “strange”,
says the show creator Nic Pizzolato.
HBO hasn’t confirmed (yet) that they will pick up the
series for a second season but the show creator seems confident (and with good
reason) that the network will, and is already working on the scripts.
In an interview to HitFix, Pizzolato revealed that the
reaction to the first season has prompt him to continue with the same tone and
not change things.
“[The reaction to season one] has informed exactly one
thing. It’s that I realize I need to keep being strange. Don’t play the next
one straight.”
Pizzolato then teased the plot of the next season, which
is hmmmmm….
“This is really early, but I’ll tell you [it's about]
hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States
transportation system.”
