Tom Ellis Cast As Lucifer In Fox's Pilot

Actor Tom Ellis (Merlin, Once Upon a Time, Rush, and Miranda) has landed the lead role in the upcoming Lucifer pilot, which is set to be directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld and Total Recall reboot), and produced by Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and Wiseman himself.

First introduced in Neil Gaiman's Sandman, Lucifer grows tired of his hellish responsibilities and moves to Los Angeles where he opens a piano bar called Lux. The series seems to have tweaked the story, which now sees Lucifer helping the LAPD punish criminals.
