What
better way for former Deadline writer, Nikki Finke to launch her own website that
with this bombastic scoop. According to her sources, Warner/DC will announce
the following list of big screen adaptations at the upcoming SDCC.
Batman v
Superman (May 2016)
Shazam (July 2016)
Sandman (Christmas 2016)
Justice
League (May 2017)
Wonder
Woman (July 2017)
Flash/Green
Lantern team-up (Christmas
2017)
Man of
Steel 2 (May 2018)
The reporter goes on to say that:
“Like
Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of
superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known
Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be
introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros
Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future
roles, meaning major contracts for multipleJL/character films to follow.
The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so
they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple
reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge.”
I would put extra salt on this for one single reason,
and that is that Marvel as a bigger, and better-oiled machine when it comes to
big screen adaptations, and they only make two movies per year because it's the
best they can do, so how will DC cope with the stress and finances to make three, when they only made one?
Well it's wait and see, if this actually pans out.
