After a somewhat bumpy
start, the Wonder Woman standalone film is finally ready to get into production
with director Patty Jenkins (Monster) heading the effort to bring the Amazonian
warrior to the big screen.
Speaking at the Geena
Davis Institute's Gender In Media event, producer Deborah Snyder has confirmed
that principal photography will start begin this coming November.
"But we still
wanted a female director and we found Patty Jenkins, who had the right vision
and the same vision as we had for the character, and we're really happy to be
going into production in November and it's been a really great process. We
tried to hire as many female people on the crew as possible."

Set to open on June
23, 2017, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as the titular superhero, and Chris
Pine.
Michelle MacLaren was initially
set to direct the project, but creative differences with Warner Bros. forced
the director out.
