Among the LexCorp, Wayne
Enterprises, Booster Gold, and others Easter Eggs in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel
there was one that pointed to Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. That particular
Easter Egg led many to at least hope that the character would eventually appear
in the DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe).
Well maybe not, as according to
Bleeding Cool, DC Comics has been actively pushing for a Supergirl tv series,
with Michael Green attached to produce and write. Green is best known for his
work on Heroes, Smallville, the 2012 Gotham tv movie, and the Green Lantern
movie, but he also worked on the Supergirl comic book in the early days of The
New 52 reboot.
If Supergirl hits the small
screen instead of the big one, then her chances of making into DC's recently
formed cinematic universe will diminish as it was stated before that DC's film
and tv universes aren't the same and won't crossover.
In 1984 the character made her
live-action debut with her own feature film, starring Helen Slater as Kara,
Peter O'Toole as Zaltar, Mia Farrow as Alura, Faye Dunaway as Selena, and Simon
Ward as Zor-El. Supergirl was first introduced to the world of live-action tv through
Smallville, and was played by Laura Vandervoort.
What do you think of a Supergirl
tv show?
