Variety is reporting that Rainn
Wilson, David Morse, Mike Vogel, Zuleikha Robinson, and Bill Sage have joined
Jared Breeze in director Craig Macneill’s first film in the serial killer
trilogy, The Boy. This new franchise will follow the life of a serial killer
from ages 9, 14, 18 until the time he reaches mass murderer status.
The Boy will be the origin story
of the serial killer, where “Wilson will portray an enigmatic stranger who
intrigues and beguiles the young Ted Henley (Breeze). Morse will portray John
Henley, motel owner and father of the boy who will eventually grow to
infamy. Vogel and Robinson play a
married couple, who along with their son (Aiden Lovekamp) spend the night at the
Henley motel. Sage will portray the Sheriff of the rural town in which the
Henleys reside.”
