Akiva Goldman To Work On Divergent Sequel, Insurgent

A Beautiful Mind screenwriter Akiva Goldman has been tapped to work on the first draft done by Brian Duffield (Jane Got a Gun), of the second installment of Veronica Roth’s YA book trilogy, Insurgent.

The first installment in the franchise, titled Divergent comes out on March 21^st and shooting on Insurgent is expected to begin this spring, but there is a catch, director Neil Burger, who directed Divergent won’t be returning to helm the sequel, so this could pose a problem for the studio, who by now should be desperate to find a replacement.

Insurgent comes out on March 20^th, 2015 and the third installment, Allegiant is due on March 18^th, 2016.
