It seems we won't be seeing the
enchanted planet of Eternia and Prince Adam's heroic exploits on the big screen
anytime soon. After losing director Jon M. Chu to Jem and the Holograms in 2013,
it looked like Columbia Pictures' had finally found someone to develop their reboot
of Master of the Universe.
Back in January, we learned
that Kick-Ass 2 writer and director Jeff Wadlow had turned in a script for the
new film, but nothing since. Now, while doing the Meet The Movie Press, The
Wrap's Jeff Sneider, who recently revealed that Michelle MacLaren met with
Disney/Lucasfilm for the Star Wars Anthology II film, said that as it is, the
new Masters of the Universe film is not moving forward, adding that it "stalled
out".
It sounds like a film about a Mr. Olympia type guy, with a ridiculous haircut, and furry underwear is harder to
translate into live-action than one would have thought.
