Actress Judy Greer is going to enter in the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The actress from Arrested Development and 13 going 30 confirmed that she will be joining the cast of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which is set to hit theaters on the 23th of May 2014.
Greer was encouraged to meet with the director of Dawn, Matt Reeves by her co-star on 13 going 30 Andy Serkis. In this movie she will play Cornelia, an ape that also appeared in the first movie and was portrait by the actress Devyn Dalton. Judy Greer will join a A-List cast formed by Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman. When asked about the role, Greer said the following:
"It's a very different kind of work than I'm used to, I'm not going to be wearing Manolo Blahniks in this one."
Jokes aside, it seems that Greer is a Planet of the Apes fan, since she had a sort of themed Planet of the Apes wedding.
"We had a chimp husband-and-wife cake topper at our wedding. At the cocktail hour, we played 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' on two separate televisions in the bar area. And on the wedding gift I bought him, a vintage Rolex, I had it engraved, 'Ape shall not kill ape.' I was then told that, technically, it's 'Ape shall never kill ape,' but there wasn't enough space for engraving purposes."
