Cliff Curtis Joins Avatar Sequels In Lead Role


Fear the Walking Dead star Cliff Curtis is joining James Cameron's four Avatar sequels in a lead role.

According to THR, the New Zealander actor will play Tonowari, the leader of the Metkayina reef people.

Curtis joins Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver whom have previously signed on to return to Cameron's lush world of Pandora.

Cameron will produce each of the four sequels, which were written by him in collaboration with Shane Salerno ("Savages"), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), and Josh Friedman ("Emerald City").

Curtis credits also include Three Kings, Training Day, and the Whale Rider.

The original 2009 film grossed $2.8 billion worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of all time in the world.
