Nafessa Williams ("Code
Black") and China Anne McClain ("House of Payne") have joined
Cress Williams in the upcoming superhero drama series Black Lightning.
The show,
which was originally developed at Fox but is now at The CW, centers on
Jefferson Pierce (Williams), a former superhero who has decided to hang up his
costume, however, with a daughter hell-bent on justice, and a star student
being recruited by a local gang, Pierce is dragged back into the fight
as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.
Nafessa will play Anissa, William's
oldest daughter, a 20-something young woman, who finds a balance between medical
school and her part-time job teaching at her father's school. McClain on the
other hand will play Jennifer, William's youngest daughter, an independent and rebellious
teenager.
In the comics, both characters
follow on their father's footsteps and become superhero in their own right.

anything electrical.
