Does Batman v Superman Deleted Scene Offer A Look At Justice League Villain?

Warner Bros. has released a deleted clip from Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that implies that we could be seeing someone very different to the rumored Darkseid occupying the villain space in the upcoming Justice League: Part One movie.

Darkseid's appearance was teased during the marketing campaign for Dawn of Justice and again during movie. Now thanks to a clip deleted from the movie but included in the upcoming directors cut, it would seem that DC Comics villain Steppenwolf will be the main antagonist in Justice League.

According to Devin Faraci from BirthMoviesDeath, Steppenwolf will have some contentious history with Darkseid, who will appear but only towards the end of the movie, setting up the second part of Justice League. Furthermore, the site also claims that Steppenwolf will invade Earth with an army of Parademons, and that the Justice League will have to turn to a "dead" friend for help.

For now this is just a rumor, and while it is entirely possible that we could see another villain other than Darkseid appear in Justice League Part One, the clip doesn't provide concrete proof that he will be Steppenwolf (above).

In the comics, Steppenwolf is the uncle of Darkseid's and the military leader of Apokolips, Darkseid's domain.
