Ron Howard and Brian Glazer's
Imagine Entertainment has teamed with Namco Bandai and All Nipon Entertainment
to adapt Keiichi Sato's 25-episode anime Tiger & Bunny into a live-action
feature film, which will probably fail given the current track record, but
fingers crossed.
Tiger & Bunny
gives a new spin on the superhero trope by giving the heroes or NEXT as they
are called, sponsors, a time limit in which to use their powers, and by having
their heroism air on a reality TV show, which ranks them in a contest to
determine who will win the title of the King of Heroes, and the money and fame
that comes with it.
The buddy cop story
is set in Stern Bild (modeled after Manhattan), and follows a veteran hero
called Wild Tiger, whose values will be half of the tension, when in a way to
increase his profile, he is appointed a rookie partner called Bunny, who shares
the same ability as Tiger, but has a completely different way to look at what they do.
When a homicidal vigilante calling himself Lunatic shows up, the duo will have
to work out their differences if they are to stop him.
