After creative
differences and budget cuts reportedly pushed Cary Fukunaga away from the
adaptation of Stephen King's It, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Mama
director Andy Muschietti is in talks to board the project.
The film was
scheduled to have started production in late June, but between the search for a
new director, and the possible rewrite of the script to fit Muschietti's
vision, it's unclear when the film will actually start shooting let alone be
release.
Before Fukunaga had departed,
he had set Will Poulter to play Pennywise, the murderous clown. Now however it
seems that the actor is no longer attached to the project, but could still
return depending on his availability.
Unlike the previous
report stating that It would only be a film, it seems that the two picture plan
it still on the table, though no further details were provided.
