Taking a cue from
other studios like Fox, Disney, or Universal, Paramount Pictures is setting up
a Transformers "writer's room" with director Michael Bay, executive
producer Steven Spielberg, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and hopefully Akiva
Goldsman, who is currently in talks with the studio.
The idea is for Goldsman
to head the "writer's room" and " incubate ideas for a potential
multi-part Transformers sequel, and come up with potential spinoff films".
It's unlikely that
the Academy Award winning screenwriter (A Beautiful Mind) will pen any of the
new films. His role seems to be to get and oversee the talent and the ideas for
the future of the billion-dollar franchise.
