Despite the sudden
change in directors, Universal's The Huntsman is moving forward with the
addition of Jessica Chastain to the cast. According to The Hollywood reporter
Chastain has joined the Snow White and the Huntsman spinoff in an undisclosed
role.
The Academy Award
nominee joins Chris Hemsworth (Huntsman), Charlize Theron (Ravenna), and Emily
Blunt (Ravenna's evil sister).
Frank Darabont was
supposed to helm the spinoff from a script he wrote, but due to creative
differences Snow White's second unit director and VFX supervisor Cedric
Nicolas-Troyan ended up replacing him.
The Huntsman is
scheduled to hit theaters on April 22, 2016.
