It looks like Tom Hardy has unexpectedly dropped out
of David Ayer's Suicide Squad. According to The Hollywood Reporter Hardy's
departure is due to two scheduling conflicts. The first one is that Hardy's current
film, Alejandro González Iñarritu's western drama The Revenant is falling
behind on its shooting schedule, and the second is that the actor will be in the
press tour for Mad Max: Fury Road when production begins.
According to them, Warner Bros. already offered the
role to Jake Gyllenhaal but because of the Broadway play he's currently in runs
until almost the beginning of production, it's unknown if he will have the time
and/or disposition to star in an action franchise.
Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto
as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and
Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
