Following the shocking announcement,
that director Edgar Wright had departed from Marvel's Ant-Man movie, which he
had been working, on/off, since 2006. News now come via the Latino Review that director
Louis D'Esposito might be the safest and only bet for Ant-Man, given the
timeframe of the movie.
The director only has three
credits has director, with two of them being Marvel properties, Item 47 and
Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.
From what I'm told @marvel had two choices. And yes folks I'm live tweeting a scoop hunt.

BREAKING: I'm hearing @Marvel has found a new ANT-MAN director (damn, that was quick). They better drop that news before I do. Hurry!

...I would guess Louis D Esposito batting in the clean up position. Again a guess. Waiting for calls to be returned.

They need a cleanup hitter who knows the culture there. The movie is completely storyboarded. Again, very compressed timeframe to make date.

If they went to in house writer to polish script at very last minute instead of outside writer, they might do same for director duties.
