As soon as director Zack Snyder announced at this year’s Comic-Con International San Diego that there would be a movie featuring two of DC’s A-list superheroes, Batman and Superman, rumors spread like a wildfire, but one seems to have caught people’s mind. A few weeks ago a rumor spread across the web that Nightwing would be appearing in this 2015 juggernaut, which only got bigger when news of actors being eyed and tested started to pop up like mushrooms.
Well
today a Tweet from producer Daniel Alter seems to confirm that the estranged Batman
sidekick will indeed be appearing and more.
Can't wait for #BatmanvsSuperman.. #batfleck semi-retired/not speaking to Robin anymore.. Controlling drones from the batcave.

Batman
vs. Superman seems to be inspired in the cult and masterful comic book The Dark
Knight by Frank Miller, which features not only a more seasoned Batman but also
a broken one. However if what Alter says is even remotely true than the story
will also be getting some inspiration from Mark Waid and Alex Ross’s important storyline,
Kingdom Come.
In
this seminal comic book miniseries, the story takes place in an alternate
future where most of the Justice League has retired due to an increase in the superhumans
population, except for the now elderly Batman who continues to save Gotham by
using an army of robotic Batmans that he controls from the Batcave, but as the
superhumans battles begin to cause more and more destruction across the planet,
Bats partners with Superman villain Lex Luther to create a group of non-powered
humans to keep “Superman and his ilk” in check.
Well
now this just adding fuel to the flames. The Dark Knight by Frank Miller seems
to be a more appropriate storyline for now, since it doesn’t introduces as much
new characters, aka superheroes as Kingdom Come, but we will have to see what
is officially announced and not go just by a Twitter message.
