Director
Len Wiseman (Total Recall and Underworld) is reported as being of the Universal
reboot of The Mummy due to scheduling issues.
Because
production didn’t stop, producers Sean Daniels, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci
are currently searching for a director to fill the shoes of Wiseman, despite
this hiccup the film is still schedule to open in 2014.
According
to Wiseman’s previous description, the new iteration of the Mummy was to be
very different from the later trilogy, which earned over one billion.
“It’s
horror. Its epic. It’s more of a modern day version of what would happen if we
came across a mummy in our world today. It is pretty fascinating.”
