“I’d
say it’s not a sequel to one of the others. It’s an inbetwequel — that’s what I
call it, for lack of a better word. It takes place about ten years, give or
take, after X-Men 3; and in the past it takes place about ten years after First
Class.”
In
some of the released set photos from the film we see President Nixon so that’s
the Past part of the film, and regarding the Future part, the footage shown at
Comic-Con was somewhat ominous, it’s like the Sentinel program pretty much
destroyed all mutants.
Regarding
the scope of the film, Singer says that;
“It
takes place in the future and the past and then all over the world, from Russia
to China, then France, and Washington, New York. It’s got scope, but most of
the scope is in the breadth of the story.”
And
the relationship between Xavier and Magneto?
“They’re
in a radically different place. Charles is in a very dark hole when we meet
him, and Erik has been gathering his power.”
Well
no wonder, Xavier is paralyzed partially because of Magneto, I would pissed too.
