In
2003 20th Century Fox released a…how can I put this…less than satisfactory
movie based on the Daredevil Comic Book and in the spring of 2011 they though
they should have another go at it with 30 Days of Night director David Slade
and Fringe writer Brad Caleb Kane. Well a year passed and nothing was heard
from the project, so in the following summer director David Slade dropped the
project to go direct the pilot for NBC’s Hannibal. At that time Fox was racing
against time before the rights for Daredevil returned back to Marvel, but has
you can see they failed and Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Studio head announced that
the rights for the character have officially returned back to Marvel.
When
Slade exited the project, director brought Narc director, Joe Carnahan to fill
the role and he even had an idea that he pitched to the guys at Fox, which was
making a tough 1970s type movie, and apparently Fox like the idea, but with the
pressure of the deadline hanging over their heads they wanted the movie to
start rolling as sooner as possible, but thankfully director Joe Carnahan didn’t
go for that trap and refused to direct a movie without a finished script.
And
how about a sequel or remake of Daredevil, well Marvel develops a lot of
projects at the same time, and most likely Daredevil will join Doctor Strange,
Black Panther and others titles in the list of in production.
But
there might be a problem for all the fans of Daredevil, which is called Marvel
Phase 2 and Marvel Phase 3, which are more oriented for galactic heroes and
villains, but there is always a chance, who knows, well Marvel knows.
