Spider-Man:
Homecoming star Tom Holland is joining the upcoming big screen adaptation of
the popular video game series Uncharted for Sony Pictures.
Shawn
Levy is directing the film, which will not be a direct adaptation of the video
games instead focusing on a young Nathan Drake who is learning the tricks of
his treasure hunting/thieving trade from his mentor Sully. Holland will play
Drake.
The
project has been stuck in development for a few years with such filmmaker as David
O. Russell and Neil Burger attached at some point during the project's long
gestation.
Sony
is apparently looking to find a new scriptwriter to begin working on the
prequel, which presumably means that Joe Carnahan's script has been dropped.
