Danny DeVito could be
heading to the circus.
According to THR, the
actor is in talks to join Tim Burton's live-action retelling of Dumbo for
Disney.
Based on Disney's 1941 animated movie, Dumbo tells the story of a baby
circus elephant that is made fun of for having been born with big hears and is
forcefully separated from his mother. Dumbo later learns how to use them to
fly, becoming a circus star, and reuniting with his mother.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but sources claim that in
this version of events, the circus portion of the story will be much more
developed in comparison to the original film with four lead human characters in
addition to the CGI elephant.
DeVito is said to be
in negotiations to play Medici, the proprietor of a small circus that gets
bought by the villainous Vandemere.
The actor joins Eva
Green who is also in talks to play a trapeze
artist working Vandemere.
