Jason
Momoa ("Justice League," "Aquaman") has signed on to star
in the feature film adaptation of Square Enix's popular video game franchise
Just Cause.
Brad
Peyton ("San Andreas") is directing from a screenplay by John Collee
("Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World"). Peyton and Momoa
worked together on the Netflix series Frontier.
In
the game Rico Rodriguez (Momoa in the movie), is an operative for an
organization known as the Agency. The movie's plot is under wrap, but it is
rumored to deal with Rico's crisis of conscience while on a mission.
Producing
Just Cause will be Peyton and Jeff Fierson through their ASAP Entertainment, along
with Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee, Prime Universe Films' Adrian Askarieh,
Supernova Entertainment's Eva Cao, and Mason Xu and Fan Dong from DNA Co. Ltd,
a China-based production company that will also finance the movie.
Peyton
is ready to go into production on the Dwayne Johnson flick Rampage for New
Line. As for Momoa, he will see Aquaman make his DC Expanded Universe debut
this year in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
