Lucasfilm has released a series of character posters for Rogue One, the
first Star Wars anthology (spinoff) film to come out of the gate.
Featured in the posters are Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), the leader of the
Rogue One; Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), the cruel but brilliant officer
of the Galactic Empire; Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), "an
intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance"; Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen),
"a warrior monk with faith in the Force"; Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen), a soldier
and friend of Îmwe; Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), a "former Imperial pilot who's
seen the light"; Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), a former resistance
fighter "who is resolved to win the fight against the Empire"; and
K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), a robot who has been "reprogrammed to fight the Empire".
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place in a
time of conflict, and sees a group of unlikely heroes band together on a
mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of
destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary
people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of
something greater than themselves.
Opening in theaters on December 16, Rogue One also stars Mads Mikkelsen,
Jonathan Aris, Genevieve O'Reilly, and Alistair Petrie.
