The last few years have not been kind to the property
and have led it to its breaking point, with everything from scheduling
conflicts, legal disputes, bankruptcies, creative quarrels, and a revolving
door of actors and directors coming and going, pulling feathers out of the
black bird's wings and preventing the immortal character from taking flight
once again.
Now according to Mashable, future Aquaman star Jason
Momoa has found a way around his DC duties and is in talks to star in the role
made famous by the late Brandon Lee in the mid-90s.
As mentioned, the reboot/remake has seen plenty of
talent coming and going, most noticeable in front of the cameras with Jack
Huston, Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston, and James McAvoy all
attached to star at various stages of the project.
Behind the camera, the drama repeated itself with directors
like F. Javier Gutiérrez, Stephen Norrington, and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo coming
in and out as time passed by. The Hallow filmmaker Corin Hardy came onboard the
project in 2014 and is still attached to helm it.
