NBC has cast Jennifer
Beals in the female leading role in their upcoming straight-to-series prequel to
Taken, where she will star opposite Viking's Clive Standen as Bryan Mills, a
character famously played by Liam Neeson in the movie franchise.
Set in the modern day, the series will show how Mills acquired his particular
set of skills as a black ops agent working for Christina Hart (Beals), the
Special Deputy Director of National Intelligence who takes Mills under her wing.
A cultured and powerful woman with plenty of field experience, Hart oversees an
elite team of operatives whose only goal is to take care of America's most dire
national security emergencies.
Taken is a co-production between Universal TV and Europa Corp TV.
