Although some fans
are still unsure of Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, one thing might lure them in.
Dan Aykroyd, who famously played Dr. Raymond Stantz in Ivan Reitman's
Ghostbusters film and sequel, announced via Twitter that he was on the set of
the reboot shooting a scene with Kristen Wiig.
The actor deleted his
initial Tweet a couple of hours later, but according to Entertainment Weekly, Aykroyd
representatives confirmed that the actor is indeed in the film, though his level
of involvement is still unknown, he could be playing a character or just having
a cameo.
Opening on July 22,
2016, Ghostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and
Leslie Jones in the main roles, with Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams, Any
Garcia, Matt Walsh, Cecily Strong, and Neil Casey filling up the rest of the
cast.
