More and more, it
looks like Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok will follow on the footsteps of Captain
America: Civil War by being much more than just another solo outing for its titular
character.
According to JoBlo,
the third Thor film will feature several elements from Greg Pak's Planet Hulk
storyline weaved in with the Ragnarok story. According to their sources, Chris
Hemsworth's Thor will "definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games"
run by none other than the Grandmaster played by Jeff Goldblum.
As for Mark Ruffalo's
Hulk, expect him to appear in this portion of the film wearing his iconic one-shoulder
armor like the one in the Planet Hulk comic. Speaking of looks, the God of
Thunder will have a shaved head in this part of the film, and expect to see Creed
star Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, who is usually depicted in the comics as a white
blond-haired warrior, sporting some war paint on her face.
Story details are
being kept under wraps, so it's unclear how Thor and Hulk end up on the gladiatorial
planet in question, but the site adds that Thor needs to find an all-powerful
weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe, so perhaps the planet is part
of Thor's search for this ultimate weapon?
Directed by Taika Waititi,
Thor: Ragnarok also stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris
Elba as Heimdall, Karl Urban as Skurge, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
Thor: Ragnarok opens
in theaters on November 3, 2017.
