Marvel has been able
to keep a tight lid on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 so far, but
that changed today with a fresh hot rumor regarding the film's villain.
According to JoBlo,
HER, a.k.a. Ayesha, a.k.a. Kismet, a.k.a. Paragorn has been selected from
Marvel's stable of intergalactic characters to make life difficult for Chris
Pratt's Starlord and his team of heroes.
Created in 1977 by
Herb Trimpe, Len Wein, and David Anthony Kraft, Ayesha was in the comics
created by The Enclave, a group of scientists dedicated on controlling the
world with the use of genetically perfect beings designed to fathering a new human
race. Their first creation was HIM, later known as Adam Warlock, who rebelled
and escaped the group. Not learning from their previous mistake, The Enclave
created HER, who also escaped and went searching for HIM, who she considered to
be the perfect mate with which to start a new race.
At this time, it is
unclear who will play Kismet, but the site theorizes it could very well be
Elizabeth Debicki ("The Great Gatsby"), since she is the only actress
Marvel has yet to reveal who she is playing.
Also starring Zoe
Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket
Raccoon, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Nathan
Fillion as Simon Williams, Tommy Flanagan as Tullk, Michael Rooker as Yondu,
Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Sean Gunn as Kraglin,
and Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell in yet unknown roles, Guardians of the
Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters on May 5 2017.
