Director Ron Howard just added yet another project to his to do list. The director has lined up two adaptions, one is his upcoming adaptation of Nathaniel Philbrick’s novel In the Heart of the Sea for March 13th of next year and the second is Inferno by Dan Brown which should have Tom Hanks reprise his role as Robert Langdon, and that is set to be released in December of 2015. But Inferno seems to be laying low so it is possible that the director will instead move on to Gary Spinelli’s spec script Mena
“The spec is a fact-based tale
about Barry Seal, a portly pilot who, in the 1980s, was a 300-pound gun runner,
and drug trafficker who transported contraband for the CIA and the Medellin
cartel. He was eventually shot to death by the latter in Baton Rouge. The title
refers to Mena, Arkansas, where a lot of the illegal activity took place, under
the noses of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and then-Arkansas Governor Bill
Clinton.” - Via Deadline
