While
Anthony Mackie talks about Captain America: Civil War with the confidence of
someone that has read the script, his Winter Soldier co-star on the other hand is
a little bit more constrained when it comes to talk about it. Speaking to
Variety, Sebastian Stan confirmed that like Mackie he hasn't read the script,
and that he has no idea if he will ever be a part of the Avengers. Stan had
more to say when inquired about how starring in Captain America changed his
career.
"Credit
is due where credit is due–2014 was a very different year for me because of The Winter Soldier," he
admitted. "The
awareness of me in terms of the industry has been very different. It’s granted
me more opportunity to be able to search for the projects I want to be involved
in, and work with the kind of filmmakers I’m really interested in working with.
Bryan Buckley, to me, I feel like he’s going to be someone you’re going to know
for a long time time. I was like, 'Wow, I got the chance to work this guy
before everyone is going to want to work with him.'"
We
know that screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are still
working on the script, since they recently revealed that they are currently on
the fourth draft, but it's safe to assume that with production scheduled to
start in just three months Stan should have a pretty good indication of what
will happen in the film.
