Box Office Weekend: 12/14 September - Guardians of the Galaxy Holds On; James Gandolfini Last Movie & More

The summer blockbuster season is starting to wear off, and as such, three new releases have made it into this weekend's top ten chart.

Director Lasse Hallstrom kicks things off with his culinary drama, The hundred-Foot Journey starring Helen Mirren, Charlotte Le Bon, and Manish Dayal. In ninth is the adaptation of Lois Lowry's novel The Giver starring Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, and Taylor Swift. Coming in eighth is the action flick The November Man starring Pierce Brosnan, and Olga Kurylenko, while in seventh comes the drama If I Stay, starring Chloe Moretz. In sixth is a new release, and actor James Gandolfini last motion picture, The Drop starring him, Noomi Rapace, and Tom Hardy. The comedy Let's Be Cops starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson comes in fifth and just behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot in fourth.

After seven weeks, Marvel's space adventure directed by James Gunn, and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper, continues to perform better than expected having just passed the $300 million in the North-American market.

In second comes the sequel to the 2011 aquatic hit, Dolphin Tale 2 written and directed by Charles Martin Smith, and starring Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr., Morgan Freeman, and Kris Kristofferson.

Synopsis:
The team of people who saved Winter's life reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother's passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital.

And in first comes the thriller No Good Deed starring Taraji P. Henson, Idris Elba, and Leslie Bibb.

Synopsis:
Terri (Henson), a devoted wife and mother of two, lives an ideal life that takes a dramatic turn when her home and children are threatened by Colin (Elba), a charming stranger who smooth-talks his way into her house, claiming car trouble. The unexpected invitation leaves her and her family terrorized and fighting for survival.
