Harrison Ford Hospitalized After Accident On Star Wars: Episode VII Set


According to the U.K. newspaper, the Mirror, actor Harrison Ford has been hospitalized after sustaining an accident on the set of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. According to the newspaper, Ford was at Pinewood Studios, when a hydraulic door fell on him as he was shooting.

"The Han Solo actor fell to the ground in agony and after medics assessed him on the M Stage at the studios close to spaceship the Millennium Falcon, he was taken by stretcher onto a helicopter for further treatment."

Ford was airlifted to an Oxford hospital, where he's currently admitted.

Disney also released an official statement on the mishap: 

“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”

Star Wars: Episode VII stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
