Norwegian director Joachim Rønning, one-half of the directing duo behind the upcoming fifth Pirates
of the Caribbean movie, is in talks to direct the feature film adaption of
Michael Crichton's last novel Micro for Amblin Entertainment.
The
story follows a group of graduate students working for a biotech company, who
find themselves having been shrunk in Hawaii's rain forest, with nothing but
their scientific expertise and wits.
Richard
Preston finished the novel following Crichton's
death. The book went on to become a best seller.
Goosebumps
writer Darren Lemke wrote the screenplay for the film, which will be executive
produce by Laurent Bouzereau and Sherri Crichton via CrichtonSun LLC.
