Spike TV has released the first trailer for their horror series The Mist, a
loose adaptation of Stephen King's novella of the same name first published in
1980.
In the original writing, a mysterious
and deadly mist traps dozens of inhabitants of a small town still reeling from
a terrible crime inside a supermarket, cutting them off from the rest of the
world, allowing for the rules of society to break down.
For the show however, "we
establish different little pressure cookers under the influence of whoever the
leader would be in those locations" said series creator Christian Torpe in
an interview to EW. "Each of them come up with different theories or
beliefs about what’s going on. Eventually, the story lines will dovetail and
turn into conflicts."
