Emmy-winning actor
Kyle Chandler ("Friday Night Lights") is joining the cast of Michael
Dougherty's ("Krampus") Godzilla sequel, which so far only includes the
breakout star of Netflix hit sci-fi/drama series Stranger Things, Mille Bobby
Brown.
Character and plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being,
but from the brief teaser shown at Comic-Con, Godzilla: King of the Monsters is
likely to introduce such fan favorite monsters as Mothra, Ghidora, or Rodan.
Written by Zach Shields, Max Borenstein, and Dougherty, Godzilla: King of
Monsters will be part of Legendary's MonsterVerse, which will expand later this
year with the release of Jordan Vogt-Roberts Kong: Skull Island on March 10,
and subsequently a Godzilla versus King Kong mega-epic.
Chandler's acting credits include roles on several Oscar nominated films including
Manchester by the Sea, Zero Dark Thirty, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Argo, as
well as J.J. Abrams' Super 8, and funnily enough Peter Jackson's King Kong. On
television, the actor has had roles on Grey's Anatomy, and Netflix's Bloodline.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters opens in theaters on March 22, 2019.
