Jamie Chung has joined Fox's yet
untitled X-Men spinoff series from Bryan Singer and Matt Nix.
The actress will play Clarice Fong, also
known as Blink, "a sarcastic and lively tomboy. Clarice’s naturally strong
exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life.
As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly ‘home,’ Clarice
is slowly becoming herself again. Blink is an established character from the
X-Men comics with the power of teleportation."
Blink (the character) was last seen
in Singer's 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past played by Bingbing Fan.
The yet
untitled series will center on two ordinary parents forced to go on the run
from a hostile government after discovering that their teen children possess
mutant abilities. The family eventually teams with an
underground network of mutants to fight for their right to be.
Chung joins Blair Redford ("Satisfaction"),
who is set to play Sam, "the strong-headed Native American leader of
the underground network."
Chung's acting credits include Big Hero 6, Gotham, Once
Upon A Time, and The Hangover franchise.
The Untitled Fox Marvel Project is a
co-production between Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Matt
Nix ("Burn Notice") will write the pilot script and serve as an executive
producer. Lauren Shuler Donner ("X-Men: Days of Future Past"), Singer,
Jeph Loeb ("Marvel’s Daredevil," "Marvel’s Jessica Jones"),
Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: Days of Future Past"), and Jim Chory ("Marvel’s
Daredevil," "Marvel’s Jessica Jones") will also serve as executive
producers.
