Illumination Entertainment has a new trailer for Sing, a new feature
animation from the studio behind the Despicable Me franchise, The Secret Life
of Pets, and the Minions.
Directed by Garth Jennings ("Son of
Rambow"), the animated feature film stars Matthew McConaughey as a dapper
Koala called Buster Moon who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen
on hard times. Buster is an eternal optimist who loves his theater above all
and will do anything to preserve it. Now facing the crumbling of his life’s
ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former
glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.
Also starring John C. Reilly, Leslie Jones, Nick
Offerman, Peter Serafinowicz, Jennifer Saunders, Nick Kroll, and Jay Pharoah,
Sing opens in theaters on December 21.
Sing also stars Tori Kelly as a timid teenage elephant
with an enormous case of stage fright, Seth MacFarlane as a mouse who croons as
smoothly as he cons, Reese Witherspoon as an overtaxed mother run ragged
tending a litter of 25 piglets, Taron Egerton as a young gangster gorilla
looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and Scarlett Johansson as a
punk-rock porcupine struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo.
