American Horror Story star and
Academy Award nominated actress Angela Bassett has joined the cast of Marvel's
Black Panther in a key role.
The Golden Globe-winning actress will
play Ramonda, T'Challa, aka Black Panther's mother.
In Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, T'Challa's
leadership
is threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help
of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy.
Opening in theaters
on February 16, 2018, Marvel's Black Panther also stars Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Forest
Whitaker, Martin Freeman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Daniel
Kaluuya, and Florence Kasumba.
