After saving the U.S.
President and the World from a nuclear war in Olympus Has Fallen, and the U.S.
President (again) and London in London Has Fallen, Gerard Butler is stepping
into the role of Secret Service Agent Mike Banning once more.
Per Deadline, Butler is will both star and produce
Angel Has Fallen, a sequel that will see Butler's terrorist-magnet of a character being the
target of a terrorist plot (for once) that may or may not destroy half of
Washington D.C., and threaten the President, who is onboard Air Force One,
a.k.a. Angel.
Franchise creators Creighton
Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt will write the script for the threequel, which
is expected to go into production sometime in the first half of 2017.
Olympus Has Fallen grossed just
over $161 million worldwide, while the sequel London Has Fallen grossed just
under $196 million at the worldwide box office.
