Paramount Pictures has
released two new television promos for Kazakhstan filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov's
upcoming biblical epic Ben-Hur.
Based on Lew Wallace's 1880
novel of the same name, Ben-Hur follows the story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack
Huston), a prince falsely accused of
treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell). Stripped of his title,
separated from his family and of the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is
sent into slavery. After years of working at sea, Judah returns home to
seek revenge, but finds redemption.
Opening in theaters on August 12, Ben-Hur also stars Pilou Asbaek, Morgan Freeman, Moises Arias, Ayelet Zurer, and Rodrigo Santoro.
